About Us

Soweto Lenyalo Indaba is the new kid in the block, with just one expo under their belt. It took place on the 11th of February 2017 at the Soweto Theatre.

The inaugural show boasts 30 exhibitors, and a fashion show showcasing the latest wedding trends.

On the day there were also giveaways ranging from engagement and wedding photography, décor vouchers, wedding cakes, bridal dress discounts, and even a diamond.

Soweto Lenyalo Indaba is a wedding show specifically targeting black service providers. This is to both promote and help restore trust in black businesses. We handpick local quality service providers, who then help our guests put together their dream weddings. These range from people who have long been in the wedding industry, and newbies who are trying to get their foot in the door.

We are here to eradicate the tradition of bad black-to-black customer service because, the truth is, there are some black people who offer some quality services. And these are the people we are trying to put out there.

The event is organized by a group of three friends namely Minah Jiyana, Nonhlanhla Nhlapo and Zandile Nkosi. Who are bringing together their different skills and qualities to put together spectacular shows.

The first show in February took our guests back to that African wedding experience. Where they danced to African wedding songs. This gave it a unique experience that made everyone feel they were at a wedding. We are now accepting exhibitor applications for our August 2017 show, so send through those emails.
